There are also scenes that are completely nonsensical - for example, when the Wei Qing's uncle invites all his ex-girlfriends to the fancy business event. It's not that I don't believe a mother can hate her own son, but I just never felt like I understood it. Her words were so harsh and every time they show the flashbacks I cringed.

The conflict with the male lead's mother felt too contrived. Even near the end, he has his assistant lie to her! Also, she is an art student but for most of the drama I felt like I didn't know what her own goals were. She even says this at one point - but waaay too late in the drama for it to be developed upon. I find him to be very condescending, and as their relationship changes throughout the drama, including an employer-employee relationship, there is always a power imbalance with him having the upper hand. She is gullible and not the brightest, but she stands up for herself and sticks to her principles. She calls him out on it and those scenes were very satisfying. His actions are indefensible and go too far, again and again, but I continued on because the female lead, Zhou Shi, has a backbone. I can't stand how the male lead, Wei Qing, continuously manipulates the female lead. I've also added a comment using the spoiler tag that specifies many of the moments that drove me crazy in this drama. Some people did love this drama so I just want to offer my differing opinion. Rewatch Value 2.0 I dropped this drama after 20 episodes, and several weeks later decided to give it another chance and finish it. The relationship of all the characters and the chemistry is really what makes "About is Love" great for me. The chemistry between the actors wasn't there for me. I have watched a few episodes of Want To See You Smile with the same themes of the male lead having OCD and unable to have physical contact with anyone, but I could never get into it. Though the overall theme of the show a CEO with OCD has been told many times, I think that the cast is what is really making this drama stand out and not be considered cliche. The chemistry between all the actors is stunning, and you can't not get invested in the story. With About Is Love, I'm equally invested in all 3 pairings and their individual stories. Most of the time when I watch a drama I either like the side story with the supporting actors, or the main leads story.

Not only do the leads have a great story and chemistry, but the supporting actors also deliver quality side stories and pairings. The chemistry between the two main leads is incredible. They deliver the angst, the drama and the romance. They feed off each other and it makes great viewing. She is not easily manipulated allowing the audience to experience the great chemistry with the male lead, while also bringing light hearted moments. However I can gladly say that the female lead is strong, sticks to her values, has clear goals, but at the same time is relatable and likeable. This is just my personal experience though. They always seem to be so senseless, and honestly I can't handle watching female leads portrayed as stupid. What I have come to notice when watching C-dramas is the lack of women being represented as strong or accomplished.

Secondly I would like to add that I have come from watching Korean dramas, and recently branched out to Thai and Chinese shows in the last 6 months. Rewatch Value 10 Firstly I would like to start by saying I have officially watched 13 episodes with subs, but have skimmed all episode without subs.
